Meeting Time
The Assembly commences at 10.00 am on Assembly meeting days unless otherwise advised by the Speaker.
Government Business
'Government Business' means any business introduced by a Minister. The Chief Minister or another Minister acting on his/her behalf may arrange the order of Government Business Notices and Orders of the Day on the Notice Paper as he/she thinks fit. Subject to Standing Order 61 Government Business shall on each Assembly meeting day have precedence over General Business.
General Business
'General Business' is non-government business and/or Private Members' business. Standing Order 60 (Routine of Business) provides that General Business shall be conducted on Wednesdays of Assembly meeting days between 3.00 pm and 7.00 pm.
