Office of the Speaker
The Speaker is the head of the Parliament and has responsibility for Parliament House.
The Speaker may make rules to give effect to the Remuneration Tribunal Determination which sets out terms and conditions for Members and entitlements.
Section 3 of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 1993 makes the Speaker the Commissioner for Public Employment in respect of officers employed by the Legislative Assembly.
Ceremonial and hospitality functions of the Parliament and inter-parliamentary liaison are administered by the Office of the Speaker.

Office of the Clerk
The Clerk is the Chief Executive Officer of the Department of the Legislative Assembly.
The Office of the Clerk provides advice to the Speaker and Members on administrative and procedural matters.
In addition the office is responsible for:
- supporting Assembly meetings
- supporting domestic committees (Standing Orders Committee; Committee of Privileges; House Committee)
- administering the Register of Members’ Interests
- managing Written Questions and Petitions
- supporting administration of the Legislative Assembly’s website.

Parliamentary Support Division
Procedural Support
Procedural support includes table office and Hansard support, parliamentary education services, library and research services.
Table Office is responsible for:
- production of the Minutes of Proceedings and the Notice Paper
- coordination of notices, motions, Bills, Consideration in Detail and amendments
- administration and publication of tabled papers
- support to Members whilst in the Chamber, including distributing papers and administrative and procedural assistance
- administrative support for passage and assent of Bills
- maintain records of Members' titles, portfolios and committee membership
Hansard is responsible for:
- recording and broadcasting of Assembly Meetings and committees
- production and editing of the draft Daily Hansard, and electronic and printed Parliamentary Records
- Estimates Committee, parliamentary committee and other transcripts
- creation of the Written Question Paper
- provision of audiovisual extracts to Members.

Parliamentary Education Services is responsible for:
- conducting education sessions and tours for schools, the public and visiting dignitaries
- production of promotional material and resources for teaching and learning about parliamentary democracy in the Northern Territory.

Security Services
Coordinates and manages the security activities of the agency including:
- security at Parliament House
- emergency management and cyclone procedure coordination
- provision of security advice to Parliament House building occupants and electorate offices
- provision of security education and awareness training.

Corporate and Electoral Support Division
Finance
Has responsibility for management of the Department's finance and budget, legislative and regulatory compliance including management of departmental accounting policies, standards and processes. Provides advice on procurement, travel, MFDs and ICT devices. Manages fleet vehicles and asset registers.
