Inquiry Referral

Pursuant to clause (1)(a) of its Terms of Reference, on 7 January 2025 the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee received an inquiry referral from the Attorney-General, the Hon Marie-Clare Boothby MLA, requesting that the Committee undertake a review of Northern Territory Regulations made prior to the year 1990, with the aim of encouraging proactive management by agencies while minimising the need for additional resources or staffing. A copy of the inquiry referral and terms of reference can be found here.

On 28 October 2025, the Attorney-General extended the reporting date until 25 August 2026.
