1. Annual grants are provided for the following programs -
. School Sport NT
. Northern Territory Plain English Speaking Award and Northern Territory Debating
. Tournament of Minds

2.
. School Sport NT has an annual grant which for 1999/2000 is $209,000
. The total annual grant for the Northern Territory Plain English Speaking Awards and Northern Territory Debating is $7,000 with each program receiving $3,500
. The total annual grant for Tournament of Minds is $5,000

The grants support both intraterritory and interstate travel. The criteria to represent the Northern Territory for each program is to gain selection by high achievement in Territory-wide competition.

3. For all programs, funding is based on teams/individual selection and is used to offset costs. No monies are disbursed directly to schools or individual families.
