Ms Carney to MINISTER for Justice and Attorney-General
QUESTION
I would be grateful if you would provide the answer to the following question in relation to the Justice Department's Budget for 2004-05. In order to assist you, please note that this question relates to output group: 3.0 Correctional Services (3.3: Juvenile Detention).
1. Juvenile crime is a significant problem around the Territory, and despite the fact that there are relatively few juveniles in custody, many are committing crimes and juvenile ‘gangs’ are a concern to many Territorians –
- (a) What initiatives have your Department commenced to address this problem; and
(b) What are the detail of such initiatives, together with relevant funding allocations for 2004-05.
