Mr STONE - 1995-11-29
Mr STONE (Chief Minister): Mr Speaker, in relation to the answer I provided to the Leader of the Opposition on legal costs, I read out a list of amounts which were incorrect when the question was asked on 7 December 1994. One subsequent action has been concluded. That involved Minister Manzie. I will provide the Leader of the Opposition with the amount for that. It relates to the member for MacDonnell's Question on Notice No 68. I am not sure of the exact date of that question, but it was asked later than 1994. When I have that amount, I will make it available to the Leader of the Opposition.
Mr Ede: When does the $46 500, about which you advised, go up to?
Mr STONE: It was the amount as at 7 December 1994. That was the date when the question was asked.
Mr Bailey: You are asked the question, and you wait 12 months ...
Mr Bell: Why didn't you give the answer 12 months ago?
Mr STONE: If you are quiet, I will explain. I queried it, once I had gone back over it and read it. I asked about the intervening period. I am told that this action is settled, and I have just said that I will provide the Leader of the Opposition with the amount.
Mr Bell interjecting.

Mr STONE: No. I really wonder why I get to my feet and try to help you by providing you with frank, honest answers.
Mr Bell: Help me? Really, Shane!
Mr STONE: I am assisting you.
Mr Stirling: It is your job.
Mr STONE: You need all the help you can get.
Mr Bell: Answering questions? Yes.
Mr Ede interjecting.
Mr SPEAKER: Order!
