Department of the Legislative Assembly, Northern Territory Government

Mr FINCH - 1995-05-24

Mr FINCH (Education and Training): Mr Speaker, I found intriguing a question raised twice by the member for MacDonnell, by way of interjection during these sittings, in which he suggested that there was no teacher at Mutitjulu School. There is a permanent teacher there, a Mr Kevin Dugan. He has been telephoned recently to ensure that he is still there. He is quite well, he is on duty, and the school is open. There are 21 enrolments and the school has an average attendance of 17. He has a 0.5 Aboriginal assistant teacher to help there and everything seems to be fine. I am not sure what the member is concerned about.
