Has the Power and Water Authority suffered significant cuts as a result of the Cabinet decision to remove 2% of its budget? In fact, $4m was cut from its budget, requiring some maintenance projects to be delayed, computer hardware needs to be deferred, limits to be placed on training of staff and a clamp-down placed on staff travel, overtime and vehicle usage. Has this affected the Power and Water Authority's ability to deliver its services?
ANSWER
Mr Speaker, there has been no cut whatsoever in the repairs and maintenance area and other operational cost categories. There is no reduction in service, nor is there any inability on the part of the authority to deliver services.
