In view of the announced resignation of the member for Stuart, will the Chief Minister tell the House the date on which he intends to hold the Stuart by-election? If he will not do that, will he confirm at least that the electorate of Stuart will be represented in this House at the September sittings?
ANSWER
Mr Speaker, the member has not actually resigned yet. He is still here. I have not even turned my mind to the date of a by-election or whether the campaign for it will be fought over the course of the next 2 or 3 weeks. I will not take any steps until I see the ink dry on the paper.
