In Question Time yesterday, the Treasurer said that he had negotiated a new agreement with the casino operators to increase the casino taxation rate from 8% to 24%. Will the Treasurer table a copy of the agreement to enable members to assess the competence of his negotiations in maximising the revenue stream to Territorians from this revenue source?

Mr Speaker, this is a good question - in fact, one of his best. The heads of agreement have not yet been signed by the casino operators. That is a matter for negotiation. Being the opposition spokesman for racing and gaming matters, I would have no problem at all in making that information available on a confidential basis to the member. He understands that this is commercial-in-confidence information. If he wishes to peruse the documents in my office, he may do so.
