Mr Speaker, can you give an undertaking to request the Standing Orders Committee to expedite the work that it is doing in relation to Question Time, including the various alternatives that have been proposed for time limits in Question Time and ways of making Question Time work effectively rather than the situation that we have seen develop over the last few days?
ANSWER
I would say to the Leader of the Opposition that, at the last meeting of the Standing Orders Committee, I indicated that I had had some feedback from the government but, at that time, nothing at all from the opposition. I was advised by the opposition members present at that meeting that the matter had not yet been considered by the ALP caucus.
