Last year the Power and Water Authority had a modest $6m surplus, but the Country Liberal Party forced the Authority to pay $14.8m into the general coffers of the Country Liberal Party administration.
Why is the Country Liberal Party hell bent on ripping the guts out of this instrumentality which is fighting to stave off privatisation as we speak?

Mr Speaker, I don’t know the particular circumstances of the $14.8m but I suspect it’s something to do with paying back a $90m loan that it received about 6 or 7 years ago. I will get further information.
