Mrs HICKEY - 1998-11-26
Will the Chief Minister admit he designed and put into place an operation which saw taxpayers pay $35 540 to purchase voter opinion research for the Country Liberal Party, with public servants deceived by a preconceived false paper trail which led them to authorise government expenditure for the Country Liberal Party’s research. The Chief Minister received the voter opinion report to conduct a divisive political campaign. This practice was established in 1990, and was repeated by other Country Liberal Party operatives throughout the 1990s.
