Now that the Chief Minister and his Country Liberal Party government have belatedly discovered that the high cost of food, electricity, fuel and other essentials is hurting Territorians, will the Chief Minister have the guts to tell John Howard, when he goes off to Canberra next week, that the last thing Territorians need is a GST?

Mr Speaker, the simple answer is ‘no’, because on this side of the House we can see the benefits of the GST and we can see the great benefit of tax reform to all Australians, including Territorians.
