Can the minister detail and explain why the Country Liberal Party administration owns shares in Paul Everingham’s NT Power transmission company?

Mr Speaker, yes, it is very simple - to protect the Northern Territory taxpayers and electricity consumers. We then have a 10% controlling interest in that. It’s a very powerful 10%. What we were concerned with was the overheads of this corporation being able to be simply adjusted without any sort of justification. We have to agree to the operational budget of that company, so that they can’t rort us or rip us off.
