1. MEETING:
The Assembly met at 10.00 a.m., pursuant to adjournment. The Speaker, the Honourable T.R. McCarthy, took the Chair.

2. PRAYERS.

3. DISTINGUISHED VISITORS:
The Speaker drew the attention of Honourable Members to the presence in the Gallery of trainees from the Top End Training Group.
The Speaker, on behalf of all Members extended a warm welcome to the trainees.

4. QUESTIONS:

Personal explanation: The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Ede), by leave, made a personal explanation regarding comments made by the Minister for Asian Relations and Trade (Mr Stone) in answer to a previous question.

Supplementary answer: The Chief Minister (Mr Perron) gave a supplementary answer to a question asked by the Member for Nelson (Mrs Padgham-Purich) in Question Time this day.
Supplementary answer: The Minister for Asian Relations and Trade (Mr Stone) gave a supplementary answer to a question asked by the Member for Barkly (Mrs Hickey) in Question Time this day.

5. NORTHERN TERRITORY TREASURY CORPORATION BILL 1994 (Serial 6):
The order of the day having been read for the resumption of the debate on the question -
That the Bill be now read a second time -

6. STATE BANK OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA (TRANSFER OF UNDERTAKING) BILL 1994 (Serial 8):
The order of the day having been read for the resumption of the debate on the question - That the Bill be now read a second time -
Debate ensued.
Question - put and passed.
Bill read a second time.
Leave granted for a motion for the third reading of the Bill to be moved forthwith.
On the motion of the Attorney-General (Mr Manzie) the Bill was read a third time and passed to be a proposed law.

7. ALTERATION OF ORDER OF BUSINESS:
The Deputy Chief Minister (Mr Coulter) moved - That intervening business be postponed until after consideration of Government Business, Order of the Day No. 20 relating to the
second reading of the Financial Administration and Audit Amendment Bill 1994 (Serial 1).
Question - put and passed.

8. FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION AND AUDIT AMENDMENT BILL 1994 (Serial 1):
The order of the day having been read for the second reading of the Bill -
The Treasurer (Mr Coulter), on behalf of and at the request of the Chief Minister (Mr Perron), moved - That the Bill be now read a second time.
On the motion of the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Ede) debate was adjourned.

9. ALTERATION OF ORDER OF BUSINESS:
The Deputy Chief Minister (Mr Coulter) moved -
That Government Business, Order of the Day No. 4 relating to the Address-in-Reply be brought on forthwith.

10. ADDRESS-IN-REPLY:
The order of the day having been read for the resumption of debate on the motion -
That the following Address be agreed to:
