1. MEETING:
The Assembly met at 10.00 a.m., pursuant to adjournment.
The Speaker, the Honourable N.M. Dondas, took the Chair.

2. PRAYERS.

3. PETITION:
Mr Manzie presented a petition from 59 citizens of the Northern Territory requesting the Assembly to legislate to
change speed limits on roads in residential areas.

5. PROPOSED CENSURE OF THE MINISTER FOR TRANSPORT AND WORKS - COST OF STATE SQUARE PROJECT - MOTION NEGATIVED:
Suspension of Standing Orders: The Member for Millner (Mr Parish) moved - That so much of Standing Orders be
suspended as would prevent him moving a motion to censure the Minister for Transport and Works (Mr Manzie) for failing
to tell Territorians:

(1) the truth concerning the cost of the State Square Project;

(2) the true reasons for the cost blow-out on the Project; and

(3) the true extent of the prolongation and variation claims submitted by local subcontractors working on the
Project.

Question - put and passed - there being an absolute majority of the whole number of Members present and no
dissentient voice.

Mr Parish thereupon moved -

That this Assembly censures the Minister for Transport and Works for failing to tell Territorians:

(1) the truth concerning the cost of the State Square Project;
(2) the true reasons for the cost blow-out on the project; and
(3) the true extent of the prolongation and variation claims submitted by local sub-contractors working on the Project.

services, and for related purposes.

"(aa) shall continue to be made until the employer under subsection (5)
notifies the person making the claim of the employer's decision to accept or dispute
liability for the compensation claimed;".

Clause 9, as amended, agreed to.

Omit from Paragraph (m), from proposed subsection (4), "that the Court considers relevant to the matter
