1. MEETING:
The Assembly met at 10.00 a.m., pursuant to adjournment.
The Speaker, the Honourable N.M. Dondas, took the Chair.

3. PETITION:
Mr Parish presented a petition from 51 citizens of the Northern Territory requesting the Assembly to introduce
noise control legislation and to increase penalties for those exceeding acceptable noise levels in residential areas
during evenings and early mornings.

Questions were asked of Ministers.
A supplementary answer was given by the Minister for Industries and Development (Mr Stone) to a question asked by
the Member for Millner (Mr Parish) this day.

6. REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION No. 1 OF 1993, REMUNERATION TRIBUNAL, ELECTORATE SECRETARIES - STATEMENT:
The Speaker advised Members, that pursuant to paragraph 9.5 of Remuneration Tribunal Determination No. 1 of 1993, he
would issue a Determination to implement those recommendations of the Tribunal relating to the rates of
salary of electorate secretaries and new base commencement salary level to take effect from 1 July 1993.
7. DRAFT PLANNING BILL - PAPERS TABLED - PAPERS NOTED:
The Minister for Lands, Housing and Local Government (Mr Hatton) laid on the Table a draft Planning Bill 1993 and
discussion paper "Future Directions for Urban Planning in the Northern Territory".
Mr Hatton made a statement relating thereto.
