1. MEETING:
The Assembly met at 10.00 a.m., pursuant to resolution of the Assembly dated 6 December 1990.
The Speaker, the Honourable N.M. Dondas, took the Chair.

2. PRAYERS.

3. SWEARING IN OF MEMBER FOR ARAFURA, MR S.G. TIPILOURA:
The Member for Arafura, Stanley Gabriel Tipiloura, was admitted to the Assembly, made and subscribed
Oaths of Allegiance and of Office, and was conducted to his place.

4. NOTICES:
The following notices were given:

Mr Coulter: To present the Mining Amendment Bill 1991 (Serial 25).
Mr Manzie: To present the Statute Law Revision (Registration of Instruments) Bill 1991 (Serial 22).
Mr Manzie: To present the Real Property (Consequential Amendments) Bill 1991 (Serial 21).
Mr Manzie: To present the Real Property Amendment Bill 1991 (Serial 20).
Mr Manzie: To present the Statute Law Revision Bill 1991 (Serial 23).

5. PERSONAL EXPLANATION:
The Member for Wanguri (Mr Bailey), by leave, made a personal explanation relating to a press
statement by the Minister for Conservation (Mr Reed) regarding restrictions on people taking animals into
Northern Territory Parks.

6. QUESTIONS:
Questions were asked of Ministers.
Distinguished visitor - Hon. K. Lyons:
Distinguished visitor
The Speaker informed the Assembly that the Hon. Kevin Lyons, a former Speaker of the Tasmanian House of
Assembly and former Deputy Premier of Tasmania was present in the gallery. The Speaker extended a warm
welcome to the distinguished visitor.
Further questions were asked of Ministers.

7. AUDITOR-GENERAL'S REPORT UPON PUBLIC SECTOR CORPORATIONS 1989-90 - PAPER TABLED -
PAPER PRINTED:
The Speaker, pursuant to statute, laid on the Table the Auditor-General's Report upon Public Sector Corporations for the year ended 30 June 1990.
The Leader of Government Business (Mr Coulter) moved - That the Report be printed.
Question - put and passed.

8. GENERAL BUSINESS DAY - STATEMENT:
The Leader of Government Business (Mr Coulter) on behalf of the Chief Minister (Mr Perron) and pursuant
to Standing Order 93, advised the Assembly that Wednesday 13 February 1991 would be the next day on which
General Business would take precedence of Government Business.

9. GULF WAR - MOTION AGREED TO:
The Chief Minister (Mr Perron), by leave, moved - That -

(a) this Assembly express its full support for Australia's involvement with the multinational forces in the Persian Gulf; and

(b) that the Speaker forward the terms of this Resolution to the Prime Minister forthwith.

Debate ensued.

10. ORDER OF BUSINESS:
The Leader of Government Business (Mr Coulter) moved - That Government Business, Order of the Day

11. ADDRESS-IN-REPLY:
The order of the day having been read for the resumption of the debate on the motion of the Chief Minister
(Mr Perron) - That the following Address be agreed to -
To His Honour the Administrator of the Northern Territory:
"MAY IT PLEASE YOUR HONOUR - We, the Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory in Parliament assembled, desire to express our loyalty
to our most Gracious Sovereign, and thank your Honour for the Speech
which you have been pleased to address to the Assembly.".

The Leader of Government Business (Mr Coulter) moved - That the Assembly do now adjourn.
