- 1. MEETING:
- The Assembly met at 10am. The Speaker, the Honourable J. L. Aagaard, took the Chair.

3. PERSONAL EXPLANATION:
- The Member for Goyder (Ms Purick) made a personal explanation in regards to comments by the Minister Hampton yesterday during which he asserted that Ms Purick supported mining of the Koongarra uranium deposit in Kakadu.
4. PETITION:
- The Member for Macdonnell (Ms Anderson) presented Petition No. 40, not conforming with Standing Orders, from 47 petitioners relating to an application by the Northern Territory Christian Schools Association to establish a non-government school in Baniyala (Paper 939).

5. STATEMENT BY SPEAKER:
- The Speaker reminded Members of the requirement to adhere to appropriate behaviour in their language expression, which was not evident during Questions yesterday, 11 August 2010.
6. OATHS, AFFIDAVITS AND DECLARATIONS BILL 2010 (Serial 118) and OATHS, AFFIDAVITS AND DECLARATIONS (CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS) BILL 2010 (Serial 119):
- Suspend Standing Orders – Cognate two Bills: The Minister for Justice and Attorney-General (Ms Lawrie), pursuant to notice, moved - That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent Bills entitled Oaths, Affidavits and Declarations Bill 2010 (Serial 118) and Oaths, Affidavits and Declarations (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2010 (Serial 119) -
(a) being presented and read a first time together and one motion being put in regard to, respectively, the second readings; the committee’s report stage; and the third readings of the Bills together; and
(b) the consideration of the Bills separately in the Committee of the Whole.

- The Minister for Information, Communications and Technology Policy (Mr Hampton) made a statement relating to the benefits of the NBN Program to the business sector and general public of the Northern Territory.
