- The Member for Greatorex (Dr Lim) presented petition No. 57 from 3 petitioners requesting the repeal of the 130km/h speed limit on Territory roads. (Paper 844)

The Member for Greatorex (Dr Lim) presented petition No. 58 from 105 petitioners relating to the capacity of the Power Grid from Brewer Estate to Alice Springs be upgraded and move the Ron Goodin Power Station to the Brewer Estate. (Paper 845)

- The Member for Greatorex (Dr Lim) presented petition No. 59 from 14 petitioners relating to the implementation of Closed Circuit TV in the Todd Mall and adjacent areas. (Paper 846)

4. MINISTERIAL REPORTS:
- Treasurer's Conference, Canberra 2007: The Treasurer (Mr Stirling) reported on the outcomes of the Treasurer's Conference.

Tourism in Central Australia: The Minister for Tourism (Mr Henderson) reported on tourism achievements and activities for Central Australia.

National Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame: The Minister for Women's Policy (Ms Scrymgour) reported on the relocation of the Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame to the old Alice Springs Gaol and further enhancement of the collection which has lead to increased tourism visitation.

International Desert Festival: The Minister for Central Australia (Mr McAdam) reported on a conference he attended to celebrate diversity of Indigenous Arts and promote desert culture and heritage.

5. EVIDENCE OF CHILDREN AMENDMENT BILL 2007 (SERIAL 91):
- The Minister for Justice and Attorney-General (Mr Stirling), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to amend the Justices Act, the Evidence Act, and the Sexual Offences (Evidence and Procedure) Act.

The Minister for Justice and Attorney-General (Mr Stirling) moved - That so much of Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent the Minister for Family and Community Services (Ms Lawrie) being granted an extension of time to enable her to complete her speech.

Suspension of Standing Orders: The Member for Araluen (Ms Carney) moved a motion to suspend Standing Orders to censure the Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services (Dr Burns) relating to the level of response by police to public law and order issues.
The Leader of Government Business (Mr Henderson) informed the Assembly that the Government accepted the motion as a censure motion, pursuant to Standing Order 95.
The Leader of Government Business (Mr Henderson) asked that further questions be placed on the Written Question Paper.
- The Leader of the Opposition (Ms Carney) thereupon moved - That the Assembly censure the Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services for -
(a) lying to the residents of Alice Springs about the capacity of local Police to respond to the deteriorating crime situation in this town;
(b) abandoning Aboriginal women who are predominately the victims of domestic violence by gutting the domestic violence unit which your Government said was a Police priority;
(c) incompetently failing to provide Alice Springs residents with an effective capacity to contact Police; and
