- The Speaker advised Honourable Members of the presence in the gallery of students from two Year 7 classes from Rosebery Middle School.
On behalf of all Members the Speaker extended a warm welcome to the visitors.
- The Speaker made a statement regarding an Epilepsy awareness campaign.
- Mr Elferink (Attorney-General and Minister for Justice), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to establish the Local Court of the Northern Territory, and for related purposes.
Bill read a first time.
Mr Elferink moved - That the Bill be now read a second time.
Debate ensued.
Extension of Time: On the motion of Mr Giles (Member for Braitling), Mr Elferink was granted an extension of time.

The Committee considered the Assembly Members and Statutory Officers (Remuneration and Other Entitlements) Amendment Bill 2015 (Serial 115).
Clause 1 to 3 taken together and agreed to.
Clause 4 read.
Mr Wood (Member for Nelson) moved the following amendment to clause 4 –
- Clause 4, proposed section 3A
omit, insert
3A Tribunal's power in relation to salaries
(1) The Tribunal must, on the Administrator's request, inquire into and determine the following:
- (a) the amount of basic salary;
(b) the amount of additional salary of office and the offices in respect of which additional salary of office is to be paid;
(c) the basis on which the amounts mentioned in paragraphs (a) and (b) have been or should be determined.
(2) A request under subsection (1) may relate to:
- (a) an inquiry for a specified time; or
(b) inquiries for specified intervals.
Amendment agreed to.
Clause 4 as amended agreed to.
