1. MEETING
The Assembly met at 10am. The Speaker, the Honourable Kezia Purick took the Chair.

3. LEAVE OF ABSENCE - MEMBER FOR SANDERSON - GRANTED
      Mr Elferink (Leader of Government Business) moved - That leave of absence be granted to Mr Styles (Member for Sanderson) for today and tomorrow on account of illness.

      Leave of absence granted.

4. VISITORS
      The Speaker advised Honourable Members of the presence in the Speakers Gallery of Mr Neville Perkins, a previous Member of the Legislative Assembly.

      The Speaker advised Honourable Members of the presence in the gallery of Year 9 students from Mackillop Catholic College.

      On behalf of all Members the Speaker extended a warm welcome to the visitors.

6. CRIMINAL CODE AMENDMENT (FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION) BILL 2013 (SERIAL 37)
      Mr Elferink (Attorney General), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to amend the Criminal Code.

7. SUCCESSION TO THE CROWN (REQUEST) (NATIONAL UNIFORM LEGISLATION) BILL 2013 (SERIAL 39)
      Mr Giles (Chief Minister), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to request the Parliament of the Commonwealth to enact under section 51 (xxxviii) of the Constitution of the Commonwealth an Act to change the law relating to royal succession and royal marriages, and to make consequential amendments to certain Acts.

      Mr Conlan (Minister for Tourism) made a statement relating to tourism activities and major events that contribute to the Territory’s economy.

12. MINISTERIAL STATEMENT - CONTRIBUTION BY TOURISM AND MAJOR EVENTS TO THE TERRITORY’S ECONOMY - MOTION TO NOTE AGREED TO
      Mr Conlan (Minister for Tourism) continued the statement suspended earlier this day.

      Mr Conlan moved – That the Assembly take note of the Statement.
