1. MEETING:
      The Assembly met at 10am. The Acting Speaker (Mr R Knight) took the Chair.

3. MINISTERIAL REPORTS:
      Stepping Stones for Tourism: The Minister for Tourism (Mr Henderson) reported on the government Stepping Stones for Tourism program to assist indigenous people to develop their businesses and planning for sustainable use of tourism projects.
      Ms Carney responded.
      Mr Henderson responded.

      Batten Road Land Release: The Minister for Infrastructure and Planning (Ms Lawrie) reported on a land release in Batten Road to service multicultural and community group needs in the Territory.
      Dr Lim responded.
      Mr Wood responded.
      Ms Lawrie responded.

      Royal Darwin Hospital Trauma Chair: The Minister for Health (Dr Burns) reported on the creation of a Chair of Trauma for the Royal Darwin Hospital.

4. LEGAL PROFESSION BILL 2006 (Serial 75):
      The Minister for Justice and Attorney-General (Mr Stirling), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill of an Act to provide for admission to, and the regulation of, the legal profession, and for entities relating to the legal profession, and for other purposes.
      Bill read a first time.
      Mr Stirling moved - That the Bill be now read a second time.
      Debate ensued.

      On the motion of the Member for Araluen (Ms Carney) debate was adjourned.

5. TERRITORY TOURISM MOVING AHEAD - MINISTERIAL REPORT - MOTION TO NOTE STATEMENT:
      The Minister for Tourism (Mr Henderson) made a statement relating to the health of the tourism industry and priorities to progress the Territory forward.
      Mr Henderson moved - That the Assembly take note of the Statement.

      Visitors: The Acting Speaker advised members of the presence in the public galleries of Nightcliff High School Year 9 students accompanied by Ms Lucy Murrel and extended a warm welcome to the visitors.

      The Leader of Government Business (Mr Henderson), on behalf of the Chief Minister, nominated Wednesday 29 November 2006 as the next day on which precedence would be given to General Business.

      The Leader of Government Business (Mr Henderson) moved - That the Assembly at its rising adjourn until Tuesday 28 November 2006 at 10am or such other time and/or date as may be set by the Speaker, pursuant to Sessional Order.

      The Treasurer (Mr Stirling laid on the Table the Treasurer's Annual Financial Report 2005/2006 (Paper 700).
      Mr Stirling made a statement relating thereto.
      Mr Stirling moved - That the Assembly take note of the Report and leave be granted to continue his remarks at a later hour.

11. TERRITORY TOURISM MOVING AHEAD - MINISTERIAL REPORT - MOTION TO NOTE STATEMENT:
      The Order of the Day having been read for the resumption of debate on the question - That the Assembly take note of the Statement -

12. INDIGENOUS AFFAIRS, 100M 5 YEAR HOUSING INVESTMENT - MINISTERIAL STATEMENT - MOTION TO NOTE STATEMENT:
      The Chief Minister (Ms Martin) made statement relating to Indigenous Affairs, 100m 5 year housing plan, education support for community Local Government programs.
      Ms Martin moved - That the Assembly take note of the Statement.
      Debate ensued.
      Extension of time: On the motion of the Member for Millner (Mr Bonson) the Minister for Local Government (Mr McAdam) was granted an extension of time, pursuant to Standing Order 77.
