          Suspension of Standing Orders

          Mr McCarthy (Member for Barkly) moved — That so much of Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent this house from censuring the Chief Minister.

          Mr Elferink (Leader of Government Business) informed the Assembly that the Government would accept the censure motion, pursuant to Standing Order 95.

      5. CENSURE OF CHIEF MINISTER – MOTION NOT AGREED TO
          Mr McCarthy (Member for Barkly) moved — That this House censure the Chief Minister for:

          Lying to this Parliament and lying to Territorians about his knowledge of the CLP slush fund Foundation 51;

          Lying to this Parliament and lying to Territorians about the relationship between the CLP and Foundation 51;

          Refusing to come clean about his knowledge and involvement in the CLP slush fund Foundation 51 despite clear evidence of numerous conversations with one of the funds directors, Graeme Lewis;

          Attempting to cover up his lies by refusing to have a full and public inquiry into the activities of CLP slush fund Foundation 51; and

          Arrogantly refusing to send a referral to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee to find the best way to establish a corruption commission to ensure transparency in the political donation system in the Territory.

          Mr Elferink (Leader of Government Business) informed the Assembly that the Government would accept the censure motion, pursuant to Standing Order 95.

          Debate ensued.

      9. MINISTERIAL STATEMENT – Recovery of the Northern Territory Live Export Market (Beef and Buffalo) – MOTION TO NOTE
          Mr Westra van Holthe (Minister for Primary Industry and Fisheries) made a statement updating the Assembly on the status of the Northern Territory's live cattle and buffalo export markets.

          Mr Westra van Holthe moved – That the Assembly take note of the Statement.

          Debate ensued.

      10. MINISTERIAL STATEMENT – Northern Territory Government's Achievements and Current Efforts in Central Australia to date – MOTION TO NOTE
          Mr Conlan (Minister for Central Australia) made a statement updating the Assembly on the Northern Territory Governments achievements in Central Australia

          Mr Conlan moved – That the Assembly take note of the Statement.

          Debate ensued.

          Extension of Time: On the motion of Mr McCarthy (Member for Barkly), Ms Lawrie (Leader of the Opposition) was granted an extension of time.

          Debate continued.

          On the motion of Mr Elferink (Leader of Government Business) debate was adjourned.
      11. MATTER OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE – VIOLENT CRIME IN THE NORTHERN TERRITORY
          The Speaker advised the Assembly that Mr Gunner (Member for Fannie Bay) had proposed a definite Matter of Public Importance – The dramatic increase in violent crime in the Northern Territory.

          Having received the necessary support - Discussion ensued.

          Discussion concluded.
      12. ADJOURNMENT
          Mr Elferink (Leader of Government Business) moved - That the Assembly do now adjourn.

          Debate ensued.
