    1. MEETING:
        The Assembly met at 10am. The Speaker, the Honourable J. L. Aagaard, took the Chair.

        The Leader of Government Business (Dr Burns) asked that consideration be postponed until a later hour, after debate.
    4. SESSIONAL COMMITTEE - ‘THE COUNCIL OF TERRITORY CO-OPERATION’ – APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERSHIP:
        The Leader of Government Business (Dr Burns), by leave, moved -
        That, the following Members be appointed to serve on the Sessional Committee, ‘The Council of Territory Co-Operation’:
    Mr Gunner, Ms Scrymgour,
    Mr Westra van Holthe, Mr Elferink,
    Ms Anderson and Mr Wood.

    5. EDUCATION AMENDMENT (NON-GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS) BILL 2009 (Serial 61):
        The Chief Minister (Mr Henderson), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to amend the Education Act.
        Bill read a first time.
        Mr Henderson moved – That the Bill be now read a second time.
        Debate ensued.

        The Chief Minister (Mr Henderson), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to amend the Education Act.

        11. PUBLIC HOUSING - MINISTERIAL STATEMENT – MOTION TO NOTE STATEMENT:
            The Minister for Housing (Mr Knight) made a statement relating to Northern Territory Public Housing.
            Paper tabled: Mr Knight laid on the Table the following Paper -
        Public Housing Wait List, Region by dwelling size and wait times in months (Paper 525);
        Sales of Public Housing Stock 1995 to 2008/2009 (Paper 526); and
        Comparison of Jurisdictional wait times – Extract from Commonwealth State Housing Agreement 2007-2008 (Paper 527).

            Mr Knight moved – That the Assembly take note of the Statement.

            Incorporation of material in the Hansard Record: The Deputy Speaker (Ms Walker) advised that the Speaker had given leave for the incorporation in the Hansard record of written material provided by the Member for Brennan (Mr Chandler) as his adjournment for this day (Paper 528A).
