MEETING:
The Assembly met at 10am. The Speaker, the Honourable Kezia Purick, took the Chair.

      The Speaker advised Members of the presence in the public galleries of Millner Primary School Year 4/5 students; officers of the Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries; and Department of Mines and Energy.
      On behalf of all Members the Speaker extended a warm welcome to the visitors.

      Suspension of Member: The Member for Karama (Ms Lawrie) having previously been warned by the Speaker about her frivolous and unruly interjections and then having continued to loudly interject -
      The Speaker (Ms Purick) thereupon ordered the Member for Karama (Ms Lawrie) to withdraw from the Chamber for a period of one hour, pursuant to Standing Order 240A, effective from 10.54am.
      Accordingly the Member for Karama (Ms Lawrie) withdrew from the Chamber.

5. MINI-BUDGET 2012/2013 – MOTION TO NOTE STATEMENT AND PAPER:
      The Order of the Day having been read for the resumption of debate, suspended earlier this day, on the question – That the Assembly take note of the Statement and Paper –
      Debate resumed.
      Extension of time: On the motion of the Member for Nhulunbuy (Ms Walker) the Member for Barkly (Mr McCarthy) was granted an extension of time, pursuant to Standing Order 77.
      Debate continued.

      Quorum: The Member for Barkly (Mr McCarthy) drew the attention of the Speaker to the state of the Assembly.
