1. MEETING:
- The Assembly met at 10am. The Deputy Speaker (Ms Walker), took the Chair.
2. PRAYERS.
3. VISITORS:
- The Deputy Speaker (Ms Walker) advised Members of the presence in the public galleries of Katherine South Primary School Year 5/6 students accompanied by Mrs Lambert, Ms Waterton, Mrs Trew.
On behalf of all Members the Deputy Speaker (Ms Walker) extended a warm welcome to the visitors.
4. HEALTH PRACTITIONER (NATIONAL UNIFORM LEGISLATION) IMPLEMENTATION BILL 2012 (Serial 207):
- The Minister for Health (Mr Vatskalis), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to provide for the further implementation of a national law relating to health practitioner regulation, and for related purposes.
Bill read a first time.
Mr Vatskalis moved – That the Bill be now read a second time.
Debate ensued.
Paper tabled: Mr Vatskalis laid on the Table the following Paper –
On the motion of the Member for Greatorex (Mr Conlan) debate was adjourned.
5. ASSOCIATIONS AMENDMENT BILL 2012 (Serial 193):
- The Minister for Justice and Attorney-General (Mr Knight), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to amend the Associations Act.
Bill read a first time.
(Mr Knight) moved – That the Bill be now read a second time.
Debate ensued.

6. EVIDENCE (NATIONAL UNIFORM LEGISLATION) CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS BILL 2012 (Serial 204):
- The Minister Justice and Attorney-General (Mr Knight), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for an Act to make consequential and other amendments to the Evidence (National Uniform Legislation) Act.
Bill read a first time.
Mr Knight moved – That the Bill be now read a second time.
Debate ensued.

7. SUPERANNUATION AMENDMENT BILL 2012 (Serial 195):
- The Order of the Day having been read for the resumption of debate on the question – That the Bill be now read a second time –

Question – put and passed.

Leave granted for a motion for the third reading of the Bill to be moved forthwith.
On the motion of the Treasurer (Ms Lawrie) the Bill was read a third time and passed to be a proposed law.

On the motion of the Minister for Health (Mr Vatskalis) the following words were inserted in the Bill, after debate -
- After clause 30(3)
insert
(4) The Minister must table a copy of the report in the Legislative Assembly within 10 sitting days after the Minister receives the report.
Clause 30, as amended, agreed to.
Remainder of the Bill, by leave, taken as a whole and agreed to.
Bill to be reported with an amendment.

Mr Mills: To move - That the government be condemned for its refusal to listen to the concerns of Territorians about rising crime and its failure to address ongoing issues of law and order throughout the Northern Territory.
Mr Tollner: To move – That this Assembly send a clear message to the government about its failure to appropriately plan for the built environment.

On the motion of the Chief Minister (Mr Henderson) the Bill was read a third time and passed to be a proposed law.
- The Speaker advised the Assembly the Member for Sanderson (Mr Styles) had proposed the following definite Matter of Public Importance for discussion this day:
- The failure of the Northern Territory government to implement a policy that addresses the broad issues around alcohol consumption in the Territory and the impact of their poor decision making on Territorians.
The proposed discussion having received the necessary support –
