1. MEETING:
The Assembly met at 10.00 a.m., pursuant to adjournment. The Speaker, the Honourable N.M. Dondas, took the Chair.

3. QUESTIONS:
Questions were asked of Ministers.
Supplementary answer: The Chief Minister (Mr Perron) gave a supplementary answer to a question asked on Wednesday 26 May 1993 by the
Member for Greatorex (Mr Collins).
Supplementary answer: The Minister for Correctional Services Mr Poole) gave a supplementary answer to a question asked earlier this
sittings by the Member for Greatorex (Mr Collins).

4. PERSONAL EXPLANATION:
The Deputy Leader of the Opposition (Mr Bailey), pursuant to Standing Order 57, made a personal explanation regarding comments made by the
Minister for Industries and Development (Mr Stone) in previous debate these sittings.

5. SPECIAL ADJOURNMENT:
The Leader of Government Business (Mr Setter) moved - That the Assembly at its rising adjourn until Tuesday 17 August 1993 at 10.00 a.m. or such

6. McARTHUR RIVER PROJECT AGREEMENT RATIFICATION AMENDMENT BILL 1993 (Serial 253):
The Chief Minister (Mr Perron), by leave, presented a Bill for an Act to amend the McArthur River Project Agreement Ratification Act.

Committee on Constitutional Development for the year ending 30 June 1992.

The Minister for Lands and Housing (Mr Hatton) made a statement relating to the HomeNorth portfolio of Home Purchase Assistance Schemes.

12. GAMING CONTROL BILL 1993 (Serial 242):
The Chief Minister (Mr Perron) for and on behalf of and at the request of the Treasurer (Mr Coulter), pursuant to notice, presented a Bill for
an Act to licence and control casinos and gaming, and for related
purposes.
Bill read a first time.
Mr Perron moved - That the Bill be now read a second time.
On the motion of the Member for Arnhem (Mr Lanhupuy) debate was adjourned.

13. LIQUOR AMENDMENT BILL 1993 (Serial 228):
Suspension of Standing Orders - Pass Bill through all stages: The Chief Minister (Mr Perron) moved - That so much of Standing Orders be
suspended as would prevent the Liquor Amendment Bill 1993 (Serial 228) passing through all stages at this sitting.
Question - put and passed - there being an absolute majority of the whole number of Members present and no dissentient voice.

17. ROYAL COMMISSION INTO ABORIGINAL DEATHS IN CUSTODY - PAPERS AND STATEMENTS NOTED:

Mr Bell thereupon moved - That the ruling of the Acting Speaker be dissented from and, pursuant to Standing Order 82, submitted his motion
of dissent in writing. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Ede) seconded the motion.
And the motion being out of order -
The Leader of Government Business (Mr Setter) moved - That Mr Bell be suspended from the service of the Assembly.
