1. MEETING:
      The Assembly met at 10am. The Speaker, the Honourable J. L. Aagaard, took the Chair.

3. MINISTERIAL REPORTS:
      McArthur River Mine, Expansion to Open Cut Operation: The Minister for Natural Resources, Environment and Heritage (Ms Scrymgour) reported on the amended proposal to allow expansion of the McArthur River Mine to proceed as an open cut mining operation management, subject to revised engineering and environmental conditions.
      Mrs Miller responded.
      Mr Wood responded.
      Ms Scrymgour responded.

      Visitors: The Speaker advised Members of the presence in the public galleries of Marrara Christian College Year 7 students, accompanied by Ms Jennifer Edwards.

      Expression of Sympathy, Master Aidan Bott: The Minister for Employment, Education and Training (Mr Stirling) advised Members of the passing of St Marys school student Master Aidan Bott following an accident at school earlier this month and extended his sympathy to his family. Other Members endorsed these sentiments during Ministerial Reports.

5. NORTHERN TERRITORY PASTORAL INDUSTRY - MINISTERIAL STATEMENT - MOTION TO NOTE STATEMENT:
      The Minister for Primary Industry and Fisheries (Mr Vatskalis) made a statement relating to the cattle industry and its contribution to the employment and economy of the Territory.
      Mr Vatskalis moved - That the Assembly take note of the Statement.
