1. MEETING:
      The Assembly met at 10am. The Speaker, the Honourable J. L. Aagaard, took the Chair.

3. PETITIONS:
      Responses to Petitions: The Clerk, pursuant to Standing Order 100A, laid on the Table a response to petition No. 43 relating to abortion provision of the Medical Services Act, assented to 23 November 2006. (Paper 799)

      The Clerk advised the Assembly the text of the responses would be incorporated in the Hansard Record.

4. MINISTERIAL REPORTS:
      Community Cabinet, Fifth Birthday: The Chief Minister (Ms Martin) reported on the Fifth Birthday of the conduct of Community Cabinet and the successful service delivery arising from these meetings.
      Ms Carney responded.
      Mr Wood responded.
      Ms Marin replied.

      Youth Round Table 2007: The Minister for Young Territorians (Ms Scrymgour) reported on the appointment of the 2007 Youth Round Table participants and their role in the community.
      Mr Mills responded.
      Mrs Braham responded.
      Ms Scrymgour replied.

      Illegal Foreign Fishing: The Minister for Justice and Attorney-General (Mr Stirling) reported on the Illegal Foreign Fishing activities in Northern Territory waters.
      Ms Carney responded.
      Mr Stirling replied.

      Australian Tourism and Brolga Awards 2006: The Minister for Tourism (Mr Henderson) reported on the Australian Tourism Awards and Brolga Tourism Awards in the Northern Territory.

5. STATUTE LAW REVISION BILL 2006 (Serial 86):
      The Order of the Day having been read for the resumption of debate on the question - That the Bill be now read a second time -

      The Assembly resolved itself into Committee of the Whole for consideration of the Bill.

      The Assembly resumed; the Speaker took the Chair; the Chairman (Mr Knight) reported that the Assembly had agreed to the Bill without amendment; and the report was adopted.
      On the motion of the Minister for Justice and Attorney-General (Mr Stirling) the Bill was read a third time and passed to be a proposed law.

6. TERRITORY TOURISM MOVING AHEAD - MOTION TO NOTE STATEMENT:
      The Order of the Day having been read for the resumption of debate on the motion - That the Assembly take note of the Statement -

      Extension of time: On the motion of the Member for Greatorex (Dr Lim) the Member for Katherine (Mrs Miller) was granted an extension of time, pursuant to Standing Order 77.
