Sport and Recreation funding for financial year 2003/2004 for Ltyente Apurte Community Government Council (Santa Teresa Community) under Local Government Bodies Grant Developing Your Community is $25,000.

The outcome statement approved by the Minister for Santa Teresa is, "Development of a local understudy to assist the Sport and Recreation Officer to organise structured competitions, assist with after school activities, organise holiday programs for the youth of the community and utilise the community’s infrastructure".

The community makes the decision about how best to achieve this outcome, in this instance the outcomes are being achieved through the: "employment of a suitable person(s) to coordinate the provision of appropriate sport and recreation opportunities within the local community in line with Office of Sport and Recreation and Council objectives". The understudy referred to above is employed using CDEP funds. Office of Sport and Recreation funds fund the Sport and Recreation Officer’s position who manages the understudy.

Local Government Councils can also apply for funding under the Office of Sport and Recreation’s Grass Roots Development Grants Program, which has two funding rounds. The first round closed 30 January 2004, the second round of funding closes 31 August 2004.
