QUESTION
1. What is the status of the use of mobile dialysis units across the Territory.

Answered on 07/02/2006
The Northern Territory is using dedicated, transportable renal dialysis facilities. These facilities are not “mobile” but can be relocated. Relocatable facilities are freestanding, unstaffed, clean and safe facilities to carry out haemodialysis and store consumables. The facility can be relocated to another community if the number of people requiring dialysis in the first community decreases through natural attrition. These facilities are currently located at Galiwinku, Maningrida, Warruwi, and plans are being made for Belyuen community.
