1. Were any consultants employed during 2004/2005 to undertake work for the Department of Health.
2. Who were the consultants.
3. What was the nature of each consultancy.
4. List the consultancies awarded by Certificate of Exemption.
5. In how many and in which consultancies were expressions of interest or tenders called before a person or body was engaged to carry out that promotion.
6. What was the total amount spent on behalf of the Department of Health on consultants during 2004/2005.
7. What was the total amount spent on consultants in 2003/2004.

1. The Department of Health and Community Services (DHCS) paid 61 consultants for 70 consultancy services during the 2004-05 financial year.
2. Attachment A provides details of each consultant.

4. Eight consultancies were awarded through the issue of a Certificate of Exemption process and Attachment B provides details of each consultancy.
5. Ten consultancies were awarded through the public tender/expressions of interest process and Attachment C provides details of each consultancy.
6. During 2004-05 DHCS spent $1 327 531 on consultants.
7. During 2003-04 DHCS spent $1 707 664 on consultants.
