QUESTION1. There was a contract let during 2003/04 for providing lighting at the corner of Howard Springs Road and the Stuart Highway –
- (a) how long did it take for this contract to be completed;
(b) how long was it supposed to take;
(c) what was the contract price; and
(d) what did the job finally cost the government.
ANSWER
Answered on 20/08/2004
(a) The contract took 19 weeks to complete. A Certificate of Practical Completion was issued on 29 January 2004.
(b) The initial contract period was for 15 weeks.
(c) The original contract price was $172 410.55.
(d) The final contract price was $192 406.24. The increase was partly due to a misdiagnosed street lighting fault.
