Did the Government purchase a property, lot 2656, from Mr Michael Barrett, if so:
(a) how much did the Government pay for this site;
(b) why did the Government purchase this site; and
(c) what are the intentions of the Government in relation to this site.
ANSWERAnswered on 21/02/2000
(a) the Territory paid $750,000 for the Lot 2656 Town of Darwin;
(b) the site was purchased for amalgamation with adjoining land owned by the Territory; and
(c) amalgamation with adjoining land for appropriate use by the Territory.
