I would be grateful if you would provide the answers to the following questions in relation to the Justice Department's Budget for 2004-05. In order to assist you, please note that this question relates to output group: 4.0 Community Services (4.6: Office of Crime Prevention).

1. Was any or part (and if so, how much) of amount of $376,000 allocated to ‘community support activities’ used to assist the Regional Crime Prevention Councils. If so:

    (a) How much was provided to each Regional Crime Prevention Council, and identify each one.

    (b) Will all funds provided be expended by June 30th 2004? If not, why not.

    (c) What (if any) performance measures exist to monitor the performance of the Regional Crime Prevention Councils, and who is responsible for such monitoring.

    (d) Have any evaluations been undertaken in respect of any of the Regional Crime Prevention Councils. If so, what were the results? If no evaluations have occurred to date, is it intended to evaluate the Councils at some stage in the future, and if so, when.
