In 1995, there were 69 Aboriginal Teachers and 277 non-Aboriginal Teachers located in Government Aboriginal schools and 8 Aboriginal Teachers and 1,479 non-Aboriginal Teachers in Government non-Aboriginal schools. Comparative data for earlier years is not available at this same level of detail as the Department does not as a matter of course collect information about the racial origins of its employees. The above data for 1995 was gathered in a special survey for the 1995 Aboriginal Education Strategic Plan Report for the Northern Territory.
